Wiring Help for UK Muslim Households

Last updated 21 May 2026

Partial rewiring, an EICR remedial action list, adding a new circuit for an EV charger or an electric shower — wiring work is one of the most regulated parts of UK home maintenance. This page connects you with qualified Muslim electricians and community helpers who can explain the work.

WHO THIS PAGE IS FOR

  • Households needing partial or full rewires
  • Landlords with EICR action lists
  • EV owners adding a charger circuit

Full vs partial rewire

A full rewire of a UK 3-bed home is a 5–10 day job costing £4,000–£8,000+ depending on the city and finish. Partial rewires — just the kitchen circuit, or just upstairs — are much cheaper and often the right call when an EICR flags specific issues.

Helpers can read your EICR report and tell you whether it sounds like a full rewire or just remedial work.

EICR remedial work

C1 codes need urgent attention (danger present). C2 codes are potentially dangerous and must be fixed promptly. C3 codes are improvements (not legally required). Many landlord EICRs come back with a list mixing all three — a qualified electrician will scope the work and quote.

EV chargers and new circuits

EV chargers need a dedicated 32A circuit and a Type 2 RCD. Most are installed under the government OZEV grant, which requires an OZEV-approved installer. Helpers can refer you to a Muslim electrician with OZEV accreditation.

How Muslims Help Muslims works

1

Submit your request or browse support

Create a free account, pick the category that fits your situation and write a short, honest post. You can stay anonymous in the public listing.

2

The platform connects you with helpers

Helpers and donors browsing your city or category will see the request and message you privately to offer support.

3

Talk it through safely

Agree the help in private messaging. Share only what you need to share — never share bank details publicly.

4

Close the case and follow up

When the help has landed, mark the case closed. Optional follow-up keeps the door open for further support if needed.

Trust and safety

Email verification gates the messaging system, and sensitive details are never shown on the public homepage. You can post anonymously, limit who can contact you, and decide what to share in messages.

Muslims Help Muslims is a connecting platform — we do not hold or distribute donations, and we don’t claim to vet every helper. Always keep bank details out of public posts, take your time when accepting offers, and read our Safety Tips before posting your first request.
