Appliance & Tech is the home for everyday household problems where the platform’s strength is community knowledge rather than a paid trader. The most common asks are fridges and washing machines that have stopped working, laptops that have slowed down or won’t boot, smart TVs that need setup help, WiFi that’s unreliable, and one-off CCTV or doorbell-camera installs.

We are not a repair company. The platform connects you to other UK Muslims who may have done the same fix at home, who can talk you through a diagnosis, point you to a Muslim trader they trust, or — when it’s safe — come and have a look. How to ask well

Two sentences usually get the best response. Say what device or appliance, what’s wrong (including any error code), and what you’ve already tried. Add your city or area. If you can travel to bring a laptop to a helper, say so — many helpers prefer in-person diagnosis for tech work. For larger appliances, helpers will usually advise remotely first.

What helpers typically offer

Three patterns. First, a written diagnosis — a helper messages you with what’s likely wrong and what to try. Second, a remote walk-through over a video call for tech setups (WiFi, TV, computer). Third, an in-person visit by someone in your area who can look at the appliance or device. For anything beyond a community helper’s scope, helpers usually share a trusted local trader’s name.
